Only two more days and June is here, which means summer is behind the door! I always get so excited just thinking of warm sunny days. There are so many reasons to love summer and the abundance of fresh local produce is just one of them. I love cooking with fresh seasonal ingredients. The summer months are the best time of year to enjoy fruit and vegetables at their best. Strawberries finally taste like strawberries and tomatoes are flavourful and juicy, ready to be savoured with a just a sprinkle of sea salt... Therefore June is a great month to go freestyle in your kitchen.

I'm joining Lurpak's Freestyle Food Month, a campaign encouraging food lovers to use quality ingredients and get creative in their kitchens. Sounds totally up my alley. I absolutely love the new TV commercial for the campaign. If you haven't seen it yet, you must watch it. Not only it makes you hungry, but it also makes you want to run into your kitchen and start playing and experimenting. I will be making quick and easy snacks perfect for warm sunny days when you don't want to spend hours in the kitchen but still want to enjoy healthy food full of flavour and nutritions. No recipes, just a few ingredients thrown together and you are good to go.
