It wasn't always easy though. I didn't have cravings, but because of overeating during Christmas, my stomach was expanded, and small portions often made my tummy rumbling. Surprisingly enough, P. seemed to get used to the detox food better than me. He even took a liking to quinoa (it is a very welcome change because I really like quiona)! Overall, it's been a positive experience.
On the other hand, our detox gave me no chance to share some recipe here. Some of the dishes were not very appetising (usually lacking any herbs or seasoning), and abundant presence of vegetable quinoa and carrot in a daily menu didn't seem interesting either. You can imagine how much I look forward to trying new recipes and sharing them with you! I took a few pictures of dishes that looked quite appetising.
If you are curious which detox plan I followed, I was googling for a while and found this detox online on woman&home website. I also stumbled upon Gwyneth Paltrow's detox on her GOOP website but that one seemed too drastic to me. Honestly I was willing to clean my body but I wasn't prepared to starve and kill myself. :) The woman&home detox was pretty much bearable.

Looks fantastic! It's always good to take a little pause from all the indulging :-) Love the Iittala bowl btw, I have the same one in white ;-)
ReplyDelete@Maria - I totally agree, this detox was definitely a good thing to do. I got the bowl from Tiina from Sparkling Ink when we met in Italy last year. I love the bowl, actually I love everything from Iittala, their design is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. Everything looks light, healthy and delicious!

ReplyDeleteGosh, that tea photo is GLORIOUS.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about what that pink spread type thing is though? I am fully in favour of pink foods!
@Juls - I can't wait to cook so many new recipes! :)
ReplyDelete@Andrea - Thank you. The pink spread is mixed cottage cheese with cooked beet. The colour seems unreal but it's really tasty. :)
Happy New Year Sari!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is lovely, the pictures are amazing! I wish I could do that.
take care
Leila
Beautiful photos and an inspiring plan! I think I'll be trying the detox plan soon :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures and I think you did best to stick to Woman and Home rather than GOOP which is bonkers!

ReplyDeleteWow your images are absolutely beautiful. The detox food looks amazing as well. I will be trying some of those fantastic detox ideas. The quinoa salad looks lush, and the chickpea salad.... Just shows, you can eat amazing food and still be healthy. I developed a detox breakfast to get me back on the wagon.
